The Kansas City Chiefs have a luxury that most teams would like to have: a reliable kicker.
Harrison Butker may be called upon to hit the biggest kick of his career if Super Bowl 58 against the San Francisco 49ers is close in the fourth quarter.
Butker has been outstanding since joining the team in 2017. He led the league in scoring in 2019 and has made 89% of his career field goals, which is second in NFL history to Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.
Here are some things to know about Butker, who is appearing in his fourth career Super Bowl.
Where did Harrison Butker go to college?
Butker went to Georgia Tech and as a freshman hit 10 of 14 field goals (71%). He had his best season as a senior, hitting on 15 of 17 kicks, and left Tech as the all-time leading scorer in school history.

Butker went on to make 38 field goals, setting an NFL record for most makes by a rookie.
Harrison Butker's 2023 stats
Butker had his best season in 2023, converting 33 of 35 field goals, including making 24 in a row, and also hit all 38 of his extra-point attempts. During a 25-17 win against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17, Butker went a career-high 6-for-6 on field goals and was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Butker has been even better in the postseason, going 7 for 7 with a long make of 52 yards during the Chiefs' three playoff games.
Harrison Butker Super Bowl record
Butker can etch his name in the history books Sunday.
With five field goals made during his three Super Bowl appearances, Butker trails Stephen Gostkowski of the New England Patriots and Adam Vinatieri of the Patriots and Indianapolis Colts by two field goals on the all-time list.
Gostkowski got to seven field goals in in six Super Bowls played, while Vinatieri did it in five. This will be Butker's fourth.
Butker also has a chance to become the Super Bowl leader in extra points made. Vinatieri holds the current mark with 13, while Butker has nine.
